Acharya Telugu Movie Review:
Dharmasthali is a temple town known for its divinity and culture of protecting God. Basava (Sonu Sood) takes control over Dharmasthali with his oppressive ruling. Acharya (Chiranjeevi) visits the temple town, goes against Basava and tries to save the people of temple town from injustice. How Acharya is connected to Siddha (Ram Charan) and how does he saves the temple town is the rest of the exciting run of the story.
Megastar Chiranjeevi is well known for his own style, swag and screen presence. His body language and dialogue delivery in all his films usually has his own style. But Acharya offers the audience a completely different and unique Chiru on screen. The actor completely surrenders to the role created by Koratala Siva and fits the best to it. The energy Chiranjeevi usually has can be seen in Acharya in a different way with Siva’s touch. Chiru is so involved in the character so that the audience will surely forget the Megastar and just gets attached and connected to the character Acharya. This makes the Megastar look even better on screen. A Mega fan will surely enjoy the trademark mannerisms and dance moves of the Megastar.
Ram Charan delivers another strong and impactful performance after his previous outings RRR and Rangasthalam. Siddha in Acharya is equally strong to Rama Raju and Chitti Babu. He is the show stealer with his intense performance. As said during the promotions by Chiru and Siva, it is so apt to pick Ram Charan as Siddha and the same was delivered by Charan too letting the audience to feel the same. No other actor in Tollywood might have played the character Siddha better than Ram Charan. The emotional bonding between Charan and Chiru off screen reflected so perfectly on screen.
Pooja Hegde can be seen as the love interest of Ram Charan. She looks gorgeous and well suitable to the character Neelambari. Pooja’s chemistry with Charan looks so fresh on screen.
Kajal Aggarwal’s character has been completely chopped off as said during the promotions.
Sonu Sood as the antagonist is as usual as he does in all other regualr outings.
Acharya takes the audience back to Mirchi days. Koratala Siva repeated the formula of his debut film in Acharya too. And the result is the same. A blockbuster output was delivered again by Koratala Siva. Screenwriting and the presentation of the lead characters are the two major strengths of Koratala Siva’s films always. Siva managed to repeat the same with Acharya. The characters Acharya and Siddha are the two strong pillars of the movie. Even though the storyline is much predictable, the presentation of the characters and other story elements perfectly worked out.
Mani Sharma needs to be complimented a lot for making a perfect comeback with his most hit delivering partner Chiru. Mani once again proved that his combination with Chiru is always a blockbuster one. The songs Laahe Laahe and Bhale Bhale Banjara came out very nice. The background score is super supportive to the story.
Acharya can be said as the cinematographer Thiru’s show in one way. All the forest scenes and the rest of the scenes in the temple town are so beautifully captured. Thiru’s choice of colors and textures are priceless and need an applause for sure. The action episodes in the second half and the climax of the movie are the worth watching mark highlights of Thiru’s work.
The art work needs a special mention and appreciation. As said during the promotions, the temple town sets take the audience into the world of Dharmasthali and give the audience a felling of a lived village.
Mahesh Babu’s voice over added soul to the story narrative at the beginning of the movie. Superstar narrates the back story and takes us into the world of Dharamasthali.
Acharya is a mega treat to the Telugu audiece from the duo of Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan. The primary outcome the audience will experience is the presentation of the characters Acharya and Siddha by Koratala Siva. The director uses his powerful writing once again and handles the powerhouse performances of Chiru and Charan in the best way with all the high moments to deliver a blockbuster movie. Acharya is all about a hero fighting all the odds to save the people and protect Dharma. Acharya is a perfect outing for all kinds of audience with a promising blockbuster from the trio Chiru, Charan and Siva.
