The senior most film producer of the Indian film industry, President of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, Narayan Das K Narang breathed his last today. The thespian was into film financing, distribution, production and exhibition, and has excelled in all of them. He is a top class distributor in the Nizam region. He was 78 years old, suffering from health related ailments for some time and undergoing treatment at Star Hospital of the city. His demise has come as a shock to Tollywood.
Narayan Das had been associated with the Tamil and Telugu film industries as a successful producer. His SVCLLP Production House is one of the busiest production houses in Tollywood. He is the owner of Asian Cinemas, one of the popular chains of multiplexes in the country.
He was associated with popular Telugu movies like Lakshya starring Naga Shaurya, Jagapathi Babu and Love Story with Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi. The senior producer was also bankrolling the forthcoming huge budgeted movies The Ghost with Nagarjuna, directed by Praveen Sattaru, Sekhar Kammula directorial D 46, with Tamil superstar Dhanush and an untitled movie with Sivakarthikeyan.
