Bheemla Nayak Review:
Story:
Bheemla Nayak is an honest policeman in Nandikotkur, Kurnool District. One night Bheemla Nayak arrests Daniel Shekar, a retired army man for transporting liquor in large quantities in a dry territory. This hurts the ego of Daniel Shekar and he starts a verbal fight with Nayak. The verbal fight turns out to be physical later and Nayak keeps Daniel behind the bars. How Daniel takes revenge on Bheemla and how Bheemla answers him back is the rest of the story.
On Screen Performances:
Pawan Kalyan always does cop roles with ease and he proved it many times before. But Bheemla Nayak offers him a different cop role, the one with more aggression and attitude. Pawan Kalyan perfectly fits into the collars of Bheemla Nayak. All his energy can be reflected in the character on screen. The action sequences in the second half are a treat to his fans with the mass appeal coming out. Rana proves with his performance that he is a perfect pick for the role of Daniel Shekar. His looks and body language is just enough to project the ego the character has. The clashing scenes between Pawan and Rana shows their intensity as performers. Nithya Menen gets a strong lady role as Nayak’s wife and she plays it at the best. Samyuktha has a decent debut. Samuthirakani is as good as he is in all his films.
Off Screen Highlights:
Trivikram Srinivas is the first man to be credited for Bheemla Nayak. He made a lot of changes in both the characterisations and the setup when compared to the original. The changes are clearly visible as the story progresses. The original content is lightly trimmed, the narrative has been changed, some mass stuff has been added to satisfy the Telugu audience and Pawan fans and finally Trivikram’s mark has been added. The addition of flashback episodes which do not exist in the original is the major change. It came out very effectively. Thaman’s music adds fire to the fuel of the film. His background score is the major technical asset to the film. Thaman lifted up the mass spirits of the film. The cinematography is great with all the rugged and classy visuals. Editing is good in the flashback cut. The director Saagar K Chandra handles the remake exceptionally well and brings out the best output.
Endnote:
Bheemla Nayak satisfies the mass pulse of the Telugu audience. With the brilliant writing of Trivikram in making the changes and extraordinary performances from the star cast Pawan Kalyan and Rana, the film gives you a perfect commercial experience with good content. The background score and the action sequences keep you attentive and engaged throughout the film. Bheemla Nayak makes you put away the original from your thoughts and serves you the fresh flavours in Telugu taste.
