The teaser of Kannada Power Star late Puneeth Rajkumar’s film James, directed by Chetan Kumar, was released on Friday. The fans of Puneeth Rajkumar were overwhelmed by the action scenes in the teaser of his last movie. This pan India cinema is slated to be released on Puneeth Rajkumar’s birthday on May 17, the film unit officially announced.
Meanwhile Rebel Star of Tollywood Prabhas paid heartfelt tributes to Puneeth Rajkumar on the occasion. He praised the deceased actor to the skies and addressed James as a masterpiece. The Baahubali actor took to the social media with a sincere appeal to his fans and movie lovers quoting, “I’m sure we’re about to witness a masterpiece in form of #James. This film will always be special to the millions of us who admire the Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar Sir. We miss you!”

Going by the teaser, it begins with a quote, ‘Emotions are bigger than business’. The movie is a heavy action thriller, whose plot includes the mafia world. The poster of the movie was unveiled by the brother of Puneeth, Shivarajkumar on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day. It features Puneeth dressed in the uniform of a soldier, fully armed standing on a battlefield. James would be Puneeth’s posthumous release following his death on 29 October 2021.
It may be recollected that Puneeth passed away all in sudden at an early age of 46, after suffering a heart attack in Bengaluru. The news of his death shocked the entire film industry. Recently, Icon Star Allu Arjun visited Shivarajkumar and Puneeth’s family to pay tributes to the late actor. Puneeth was last seen in Yuvarathnaa which was a massive hit. The movie was released in several languages including Telugu.
As an honour to Puneeth Rajkumar, OTT platform Amazon Prime Video announced the premiere of three new Kannada movies- Man of the Match, One Cut Two Cut and Family Pack.
