“Maha Samudram” Telugu Movie Review:
Story:
Maha Samudram revolves around two youngsters Vijay (Siddharth) and Arjun (Sharwanand.) Vijay falls in love with Maha (Aditi Rao Hydari) and leaves her when she is pregnant. He leaves town and Arjun ends up taking care of Maha and her child. Situations force Arjun to become the gangster of Vizag and Vijay returns as a police officer and locks horns with him. What happens when they clash forms the plot of the movie.
Performances:
Siddharth is back with a bang after being away from Tollywood for 8 years. Sharwanand is excellent in his role and carries the emotions very well apart from the action scenes. Aditi Rao Hydari mesmerises with her beauty. Jagapathi Babu is at his usual best as Chunchu Mava. Rao Ramesh excels in his role as Gooni Babji with his acting, dialogues and antics. Ajay Bhupathi’s writing of his characters is very good and establishes them well. Anu Emmanuel does well in her little role as an advocate.
Highlights:
Siddharth and Sharwanand’s scenes are the major highlights of the movie. Chaitan Bharadwaj’s music and background score elevate the movie. Cinematography by Raj Thota is top notch and he showed Vizag in all its glory. Rao Ramesh’s character is also one of the biggest highlights of the movie.
Verdict:
Maha Samudram is set up brilliantly in the first half. The story, the friendship between Siddharth and Sharwanand is well established and it is a visual treat. The second half lacks enough drama when Siddharth returns and the conflict is ended in a hurry. If watching a dramatic love story with enough action and multi starrers is your cup of tea, head over to theatres on this long weekend and enjoy watching Maha Samudram.
