The pandemic in 2020 created havoc across the globe with unemployment and deteriorating economic conditions. With many industries severely affected, the film industry was no exception to the dire consequences. While 2021 gave us the hope to revert things back to normal, the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic hit us hard again. Much awaited movies like Radhe Shyam, RRR and Acharya shootings are currently halted due to the lockdown restrictions. Responding to the present situation, the makers of Tollywood expressed their opinions on the pandemic and vaccination.
The prominent producer of Tollywood, Suresh Daggubati said “ We don’t know how long this situation will last. When the lockdown restrictions are lifted we shall start shooting. Unlike the last time, we want to be cautious. This year as soon as the lockdown restrictions were lifted we hastily started shooting which resulted in numerous cases in our working units. We want to avoid such scenarios in the near future. We are taking an expedient approach by getting all our cast and crew, technicians and working staff vaccinated(sic.)” Furthermore Suresh Babu said “We should ask for 50% occupancy rather than 100% occupancy and avoid large gatherings to curb the virus spread(sic.)”
Speaking of the same, Producer Y. Ravi Shankar said “ Vaccinating our crew members is the least we can do at the moment. We believe that is also one of the ways to make everyone feel safe while working. Prominent personalities are presently in talks with the state government. The vaccination procedures starts once the vaccines are available(sic.)”

Responding to the same, Ram Mohan Rao the Chairman of Telangana Film Development Corporation said “It is unlikely that shootings might resume as soon as the lockdown restrictions are lifted up. We realized the effects of the deadly virus and we lost our loved ones in the fight. So we put forth safety over profits at the moment and no risk shall be taken in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic(sic.)” Prominent personalities have expressed their opinions on vaccinating their cast and crews to avoid repercussions in the future and provide a safe working environment.
