Rajinikanth, the most influential actor in South Indian cinema and is popularly known as Thalaiva across India for his impeccable contributions to cine industry. He was last seen in an action drama titled Darbar (2020) which scored a massive hit and he is currently filming for Annaatthe helmed by Siva. Amidst the Covid pandemic, there is happy news circling on the internet, actor Rajinikanth is to be awarded with the prestigious 51st Dadasaheb Phalke award of 2019 this year.
Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India’s highest award and it is an annual celebration of honouring for the outstanding contribution to cinema. After the pandemic, the Indian government is back on board to honour the talent in Indian cinema for the year 2019. Prakash Javedkar, Minister of Information and Broadcasting took to Twitter and officially announced the news.
