Shahid Kapoor made his feature film debut as a shy chocolate boy with the movie Ishq Vishq, and the actor has not looked back since then. Shahid took on diverse roles ranging from a deranged druggie in Udta Punjab to a morally upright Rajput king in Padmaavat. The son of renowned actor Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azeem, Shahid hails from a family with acting in its blood. Shahid Kapoor has grown in the Hindi film industry on his own merit, establishing himself with his choice of tricky and versatile roles. Having impressed Indians with his portrayal of Kabir Singh, in the movie of the same name, Shahid will next be seen in the Hindi remake of Jersey.
Jersey is a sports drama movie which revolves around the life of a father who is a failed cricketer and his son, who inspires him to chase after his dreams. Jersey connected to the viewers on a highly personal level making the movie a phenomenal hit. Jersey won two National Awards at the 67th National Film Awards for both, Best Telugu Film and Best Editor categories. Shahid Kapoor immediately took to Twitter to thank the team behind Jersey and jokingly quipped that there is now extra pressure on him to perform in the Hindi remake.

Jersey also stars Shraddha Srinath, Ronit Kamra, Sathyadev and Vishwant Duddumpudi in pivotal roles. Jersey was written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and produced by Sithara Entertainments. Music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while Naveen Nooli is the editor of Jersey for which, he won the National Film Award. Jersey is currently being remade in Hindi with the same title and also by the same director.
