The Venkatesh Daggubati starrer Drushyam (2014,) is getting a sequel. The Telugu sequel will be helmed by Director Jeethu Joseph, who just scored a blockbuster hit with the Malayalam version of Drishyam 2. Ever since the makers announced Drushyam 2, fans can’t wait to know more updates about the project.
According to the latest reports, Rana Daggubati has been roped in to reprise the character of Thomas Bastin IPS, played by Murali Gopy in the original. An official announcement regarding this will be made soon. It is to be noted that, in the first version of the Telugu remake of Drushyam, actress Nadhiya played the role of IPS.
Drushyam 2 was recently launched with a formal pooja ceremony in the presence of Venkatesh, Suresh Babu and other crew members. Venkatesh commenced the regular shooting of the film from March 5. Though the details of other cast are not announced, it is expected the rest of the actors, including Meena, Naresh, Nadiya, Krithika and Esther Anil will reprise their roles from the 2014 Telugu remake for the sequel.

Drushyam told the story of a man named Rambabu, who goes to great lengths to cover up the manslaughter committed by his wife and elder daughter. Producer and brother of Venkatesh, Suresh Babu, who produced Drushyam, is also producing the sequel, Drushyam 2, under the banner of Suresh Productions.
