The 2015 Malayalam super hit film Premam, which was directed by Alphonse Putharen, was a romantic drama starring Nivin Pauly, Sai Pallavi, Madonna Sebastian, and Anupama Parameswaran. Premam was highly praised and was a huge hit at the Kollywood box office. This film has already been remade in Telugu with the same title as the Malayalam, and now there is talk about a Tamil remake doing the rounds.
In a recent interview, Director Alphonse Putharen has said that he feels Dhanush is the right choice for the Tamil remake of Premam. The director feels Dhanush is one such actor who can pull off any character from schoolboy to a married man. Director Alphonse Putharen feels and thinks that Dhanush is perfect for the Tamil version since he can easily reprise all the three phases of Premam George.
Premam was remade in Telugu starring the same cast as the Malayalam version but Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan were added to the Telugu remake version. The Telugu version was also received well by the Telugu audience at the box office and critics alike.

On the work front, Dhanush will be next seen in a Tamil film titled Jagame Thandhiram directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The actor also has another big Bollywood film in his kitty co starring with Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar titled Atrangi Re, directed by Aanand L. Rai.
