The beautiful and serene city of Visakhapatnam saw tragedy unfolding in the late hours of the night as a hazardous gas called Styrene leaked from a chemical plant in Gopalpatnam. The gas spreads quickly in a radius of 3 kilometers and being a neurotoxin, it paralyses the body and eventually leads to the demise of a living being. As morning came, the aftermath became evident as almost as many as 1000 people were affected by the gas and few people even lost their lives in the process. The horrific incident is being compared to the Bhopal Gas tragedy which is one of the world’s deadliest gas poisoning.
As concerned government departments are still running around to check for survivors and to stop the spread of the gas the complete picture will be known when everything subsides. Tollywood celebrities have reacted to this horrific incident on social media to express their shock at this tragedy.

It is advisable to cover faces with a wet cloth and eyes with glasses in order to stay safe. It is also advisable to stay away upwind from the site of tragedy to avoid coming in contact with the dangerous gas.
