Rana Daggubati will appear as Bandev in the upcoming film Aranya, directed by Prabu Solomon. The movie is produced and distributed by Eros International. Rana Daggubati stars as Bandev, a protector of forests, taking on a corporate entity encroaching on forest lands inhabited by a herd of elephants. Rana Daggubati looks convincing as Bandev, sporting a rugged look.
However the movie industry took a hit with many state governments calling for a shutdown of movie theaters and shopping malls as a precautionary measure against the Coronavirus pandemic that has reached India. Many movie releases have been affected by the closure of theaters, and producers are being forced to halt shooting schedules and postpone movie releases. Rana Daggubati’s Aranya which was supposed to release on April 2nd, 2020 is now forced to postpone the release date.
Eros International, the distribution company for Aranya has released a statement regarding the postponement of the release date. The statement reads “EROS International has always kept our audience’s interest at forefront as a core value. Healthy and happy audiences have always kept us motivated to produce and distribute unique stories that have never been told before. In light of recent developments of COVID19 Coronavirus, our recent announcement regarding the scheduled release of Haathi Mere Saathi, Aranya & Kaadan stands changed.
