This inspiring story of master weaver Chintakindi Mallesham was easily the best biopic of 2019 in Tollywood.  Raj Rachakonda made this movie with Priyadarshi, who was known for comedy in Telugu movies. The way Priyadarshi molded himself for this role was legendary and made the audience sit up and notice.  Mallesham is now a classic and also an authentic biopic about a great person.

The year 2019 saw a great horror and suspense thriller, Game Over, with Taapsee Pannu giving her best performance in Tamil and Telugu.  Game Over told the story of a video game developer who is subjected to sexual assault and has hallucinations about the incident.  Ashwin Saravanan created a great impact with unpredictable twists and the movie became a sleeper hit.

The movie was the first of its kind which showed the ascendency of a rural girl to a great woman cricket bowler.  Aishwarya Rajesh starred in the same plot in Kanaa, the Tamil original.  She again excelled in this remake with her terrific body language and acting skills.  This Bheemaneni Srinivasa Rao film became an instant hit with the masses.

Amala Paul challenged herself and the stereotypes of a heroine by choosing a theme which no one dared to explore in Indian cinema.  Director Ratna Kumar extracted one of the best performances from a mainstream actress.  The film explored the theme of freedom and the extent to which it should be used by women.  People loved this theme and gave the movie a big thumbs up.
