On November 17th, Bollywood diva Rekha received the ANR National Award for the year 2019 from the ANR Foundation. The National Award winning actress and Padma Shri awardee remembered the place she started her career—Telugu cinema.
The Telugu born actress spoke at length about being a Telugu bidda and her first exposure to cinema. Rekha thanked the late actress Anjali Devi for launching her career as a heroine in Telugu with Amma Kosam (1970.) Rekha also mentioned in a lighter vein that she started her career as a four year old in her uncle Vedantam Raghavaiah’s Inti Guttu (1958.)
Rekha felt nostalgic about shooting at the Annapurna Studios for various Hindi movies. She then stated she desires to act in a Telugu movie soon, as it was the last wish of her late mother, Pushpavalli.
We hope Rekha fulfills her mother’s wish soon!
