Biopics have been the toast of the film industries for quite some time now. The year 2018 saw biopics about the legendary Savitri and N.T. Rama Rao, made by Nag Ashwin and Krish Jagarlamudi respectively.
This year, it is the turn of Jayalalithaa, the charismatic former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and an actress of the South. Two biopics about Jayalalithaa are in the pipeline, made by two different filmmakers.
Famous Tamil director A.L. Vijay is making the biopic, with Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut donning the role of Jayalalithaa. This role could easily be the biggest challenge of her award winning film career.
The movie, titled Thalaivi, was launched officially on November 10th, 2019 in Chennai. Arvind Swami plays the role of Jayalalithaa’s mentor, M.G. Ramachandran, in this biopic. G.V. Prakash Kumar is the music director of Thalaivi.
The Thalaivi will arrive royally!
