Who does not know the name P. Susheela in the South? The living legend, who breathed life into thousands of songs in all the South languages, is still going strong at 83.
The singing genius recently sung a devotional song for the Amala Paul movie Aadai (Tamil.) This movie will also be released in Telugu as Aame.
Amala Paul, who plays Kamini, a gang rape victim, has got a golden opportunity this time to lip sync for a P. Susheela song. Aadai director Rathna Kumar took to his Twitter handle to reveal the news.
“At the age of 83, P.Susheela Amma has sung a Devotional song for our film #Aadai. She sang the same song for the 1st time 70 years ago. It was a blessing from god to have her voice in our film😇. Thank u @pradeepvijay & @thisisoorka #Bakthimetal a Metallic Devotional song up next (sic,)” Kumar’s tweet read.
The director posted pictures of music director Pradeep Kumar and him with nightingale P. Susheela, which showed their adulation and respect to the first lady of Southern playback.
Rathna Kumar also posted a message for Amala Paul on Twitter, about Paul’s lost opportunity to meet Susheela Amma in person. He added, he hopes Amala does complete justice to Susheela Amma’s song.
His tweet read, “@Amala_ams . You were really unlucky to miss meeting susheela ma in real. Hope you will make full justice to the song on screen 💥🔥🔥🔥(sic.)”
We are all ears to hear our beloved Melody Queen.
