Sai Pallavi gained stardom in the South as the Malar teacher in the Malayalam hit Premam. She followed it up with the Sekhar Kammula directorial Fidaa and became a household name in the Telugu speaking states.
Sai Pallavi and Malayalam superstar Fahad Faasil starred in a psychological thriller, Athiran, which depicted her as a psychologically challenged girl. The Malayalam movie was a big hit in Kerala and Sai Pallavi had some extremely good martial arts sequences in the movie. She was shown as a practitioner of Kalaripayattu, the traditional martial arts of Kerala.
Vivek directed this thriller movie, which will now be released in Telugu by Jayanth Arts’ A.K. Kumar and G. Ravikumar.
Athiran is a film based on a true incident which took place in Kerala in the early 1970s. The Telugu dubbing formalities are going on currently, with the team planning to release the movie during late August.
Another interesting aspect about Athiran is its music by Ghibran, who was recently signed up to compose the background score for the Prabhas starrer Saaho.
