Mahanati, the Keerthy Suresh movie based on the life and times of legendary actress late Savitri, was showered with love and adulation wherever it was screened. The movie is also expected to win it big at the upcoming 66th Indian National Film Awards 2019.
Now, Mahanati is set to be screened at the 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival, in the official selection category.
Mahanati recently completed a year since its release in May 2018. Starring Keerthy Suresh, Dulquer Salmaan, Rajendra Prasad, Bhanupriya and many others, Mahanati paid a moving tribute to the first female superstar of South Indian cinema, the late Savitri. The film was a critical and commercial success. Mahanati‘s musical score by Mickey J. Meyer was appreciated and the film was well received at all the film festivals.
Veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the official selection news on his Twitter handle.
“#Mahanati, the much-loved, critically acclaimed and successful #Telugu film, will be screened at Shanghai International Film Festival in #China… The festival will be held from 15 to 24 June 2019 (sic,)” his tweet stated.
The Shanghai International Film Festival is one of the most revered film carnivals of South East Asia.
