On this day, 2 years ago, Majili, starring the power couple of Tollywood, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha was released and became one of the smash hits of 2019. To say the movie touched the hearts of the Telugu audiences, is an understatement!
Majili is a movie about love. The movie beautifully depicted the allure of relationships whether it be a first love or a marital relationship. Naga Chaitanya’s performance as Poorna, a dedicated lover in the first half and as a wayward son and an uncaring husband in the second half, was praiseworthy. Samantha Akkineni gave a terrific performance with her role as Sravani, a caring and loving wife. Naga Chaitanya and Samantha shared a ravishing chemistry and made Majili successful.

The background score by S.S Thaman and the soulful music by Gopi Sunder deserves special appreciation. The song Priyathama Priyathama sung by Chinmayi Sripada became one of the biggest hits of that year. Majili is a very special film to the lead couple as well. Naga Chaitanya and Samantha paired up for the third time after Ye Maaya Chesave and Autonagar Surya, which also happened to be their first movie together after their marriage to each other. Shiva Nirvana put out his best with Majili. Majili will remain as one of the best romantic Telugu movies of all time!
