2021 had been a tough year for the filmmakers due to the pandemic. There are not enough releases in the theatres. But an alternative option rises with this scarcity for the film lovers. Many filmmakers stepped forward to make and release their films on the OTT platform. This was a good move and it laid the path for many unique films. Many talented actors and other crew members got opportunities. Most importantly, some smart storytelling was introduced into Telugu cinema. Here are a few films that brought entertainment directly into our homes and filled our hearts with love for cinema.
The films which released on the OTT platforms include Drushyam 2, Tuck Jagadish, Maestro, Narappa, Ek Mini Katha, Adbutham, Family Drama, Akashavaani, Ardha Shatabdham, Pachchis, Cab Stories, Cinema Bandi, Battala Ramaswamy Biopikku, Thank You Brother, Pitta Kathalu, Super Over, MAD, #Bro and Vivaha Bhojanambu.
An experienced and star hero, Venkatesh Daggubati released his two films Narappa and Drushyam 2 on the streaming platform, Amazon Prime Video. Both the films were hearfully welcomed and hugely appreciated by the audience. Nani provided a wholesome family entertainment with Tuck Jagadish. Nithin came up with Maestro, a perfect remake for Andhadhun. Other low budget films including Ek Mini Katha, Adbutham, Pachchis, Family Drama, Battala Ramaswamy Biopikku and Bro got good applause from the audience. Cinema Bandi, a film made on filmmaking by some villagers is a beautiful experiment. Vivaha Bhojanambu provided a fun ride in the tough times of the pandemic.
