Veteran Telugu director Vidya Sagar Reddy, who delivered many blockbuster films in the 1980s and 1990s, has been suffering from severe illness for the past few months. The veteran director passed away today with that severity at the age of 70. Vidya Sagar Reddy has been living at his own residence in Chennai for the past few years. He took his last breath there today, early in the morning.
Vidya Sagar came to Hyderabad from Guntur and worked as an assistant editor and then assistant director for a few months in his early days. Later, he made his directorial debut with the film Rakasi Loya in 1983. Naresh and Vijayashanti are the lead pair in the film. The film got a decent response. Later, Vidya Sagar continued to deliver success with the films Amma Donga, Stuwartpuram Dongalu, Khaidi Brothers, Action No. 1, and Anveshana. Vidya Sagar served as president of the Telugu Directors Association for three terms in a row.

Many Tollywood directors and other members of the film fraternity feel deeply saddened by this news. They send their condolences to Vidya Sagar’s family. Vidya Sagar Reddy might leave this land physically, but his films will stay in the hearts of every film lover forever. May his soul rest in peace.
