“This is the Jr NTR you have known. This is a new Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao from the Nandamuri family. We are launching a new NTR. This is his first movie. Bless him,” director Puri Jagannadh thundered, speaking at the audio launch event of Temper. It was on February 13th that Temper was released in theatres in 2015. As the action drama turns 10, we raise a toast to the film that put back Tarak’s career back on track.
Temper not only introduced Jr NTR 2.0 but also became the starting point of a new era in his filmography. Since then, the actor has only had hits at the box office.
Looks wise, Temper presented a leaner and fitter Jr NTR. The physical transformation was stunning. His bared his six-pack abs. For a particular shot in a song, he didn’t drink a drop of water for 18 hours straight. This was a far cry from the kind of hero Puri Jagannadh had presented in Andhrawala, his first union with the actor.
Jr NTR spoke with so much confidence before the release of Temper that it was as if he knew what was in store, saying that he had acted in the movie with a vengeance. He famously used the phrase ‘Nandamuri Nama Samvatsaram’ in his speech.
In terms of onscreen attitude and the character arc, Temper remains one of the best films in Jr NTR’s career. Produced by Bandla Ganesh, Vakkantham Vamsi wrote its story. Anup Rubens and Mani Sharma, respectively, composed its music and BGM.
