Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati (Side-A) is the latest Kannada dubbed film featuring the duo Rakshit Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth. Hemanth M. Rao is the writer and director of the film. People Media Factory is releasing the film in Telugu and the makers promise a captivating film with emotionally charged storytelling. Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati (Side-A) is the second collaboration of Rakshit Shetty with the filmmaker Hemanth M. Rao after Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu (2016.) Rakshit Shetty felt an instant connection to the plotline when the director narrated the story and is proud to witness talent emerging in the Kannada film industry. The director made the decision to divide it into two segments, which was naturally needed given the duration of the storyline. The initial portion embodies elements of Indian classical poetry, while the second part adopts a poetic style reminiscent of rock bands, illustrating the evolving emotions between Manu and Priya. The film set in 2010 is centered around cassettes, whose popularity played a pivotal role in the film. While Side A has already been released, we eagerly anticipate the release of Side B.
In Karnataka, Telugu films have garnered significant love with numerous families establishing a tradition of watching a movie every weekend. Rakshit Shetty stated that he used to view Telugu films on VCR tapes several months after their initial release.
The title Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati (Side-A) originates from a beautiful Kannada poem, roughly translated to mean “somewhere beyond seven seas.” It gives us the perfect notion that even if we never physically reach a place, the idea of being there can have significance with love, family, and life aspirations. The Kannada film industry has begun to explore new avenues, and with the creation of high-quality content, we can unlock more opportunities. We require more filmmakers to contribute to the growth of Kannada cinema.
Rakshit Shetty is now working on the upcoming film Richard Anthony, an elegant gangster tale, followed by an OTT film based on afterlife. Furthermore, Punya Koti is also in development as a two-part project. As an actor, he expressed his desire to work in a Telugu film, but as a filmmaker, he believes that it is essential to acquire a deeper comprehension of the Telugu language, including its literature and folklore.
