“Navigating Retro’s unfamiliar universe and its fresh cast of characters left me pondering my own role within it from the moment it was described. And his statement encapsulates the fact that Retro is set in a separate world of its own. Expect director Karthik Subbaraj to do excellent world-building in Retro.
To be released in theatres on May 1st, Retro has Suriya in an author-backed role. Going by the trailer, he has oscillated between gentle romance and an acting intensity he has never done before. Pooja Hegde plays his wife in the film.

The story of someone who has left behind a rowdy lifestyle, only to be forced into reliving the now-abandoned lifestyle is exciting on paper. Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music. Jackie’s production design ensures that the visuals are fresh.
Jayaram, Prakash Raj and Karunakaran are essaying pivotal roles. Retro boasts a stellar technical crew, including cinematographer Shreyaas Krishna, and editor Mohammed Shafique Ali. The film is produced by Jyotika – Suriya.
