Rebel Star Prabhas’ much-anticipated trailer for the pan-Indian film “Kalki 2898 AD” was released, stirring excitement as the film approached its grand global debut. The production team had meticulously crafted an extensive marketing campaign to build worldwide anticipation. Earlier, the filmmakers had released the highly awaited theatrical trailer for “Kalki 2898 AD,” which was unveiled in five languages.
Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani in key roles, the film is described as a “true pan-Indian film.” It follows a modern-day avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu, who is believed to have descended to Earth to protect the world from evil forces.
Speaking in a statement obtained by Deadline, director Ashwin said: “My heart is filled with so many emotions today. As a filmmaker, I have always been fascinated by Indian mythology and science fiction. Merging these two elements in Kalki 2898 AD is nothing short of a dream made possible by the incredible talent and dedication of our artists and team. It has taken us a lot to witness this today.”
“From our producers and star cast to the brilliant, creative minds and entire crew of Kalki 2898 AD, each person has poured their heart and soul into this film. We hope the trailer makes the Telugu audience and entire nation proud, leaving them excited for what’s to come”, Nag Ashwin stated.
The makers unveiled the trailer in different cities all at once in different languages, with their post reading: “𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐖. Presenting #Kalki2898ADTrailer to you all!”
Kalki 2898 AD Theatrical Trailer:
The trailer teases a dystopian future where the only city that has survived is Kashi, along with the fictional city of Complex. It portrays the struggles of common people to obtain basic amenities. The trailer gradually introduces the star cast, starting with Amitabh Bachchan, followed by Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and closing with Kamal Haasan.
Helmed by Nag Ashwin and produced by C. Ashwini Dutt under the legendary Vyjayanthi Movies banner, this VFX-heavy project is a multilingual, mythology-inspired sci-fi film set in the future. It is set to be released in cinemas worldwide on June 27. It’s touted as one of the most expensive Indian films made to date, with music by Santosh Narayan.
