Ulaganayagam, or Universal Star Kamal Haasan, who is celebrated for his nuanced and powerful performances, will feature in renowned filmmaker Shankar Shanmugham’s next Telugu film, Indian 2, also known as Bharateeyudu 2.
Indian, which was produced by A. M. Rathnam and directed by S. Shankar in 1996, is one of the most famous Tamil-language vigilante action movies ever. Indian 2, its sequel, will have Kamal reprising his role as Senapathy, who cannot withstand corruption, concerning his role in India’s freedom fight.
The theatrical trailer for the film has been released by its makers, adding to the excitement surrounding it as it gets ready for its big global premiere.

The first scene of the theatrical trailer for Bharateeyudu 2, also known as Indian 2, depicts the wealth gap and how little our country has changed since the days of the independence.
Siddharth and his group of friends are agitated with the day-to-day injustice, as they stumble up on the stroy of Senapathy, the ex-freedom fighter, who had zero tolerance towards injustice.
Kamal Haasan’s array of personas, which he uses to battle injustice and corruption, is quite amazing. They feature massive amounts of Shankar Shammugham-esque merchandise.
With music mastery from Anirudh Ravichander, captivating cinematography from Ravi Varman, and deft editing by Sreekar Prasad, “Indian 2” is expected to offer a unique cinematic experience unlike any other.
Kollywood director Shankar Shanmugham, who took Tamil cinema to international arena with movies like ‘Indian’, ‘Shivaji, ‘Robo’ etc., is know to craft a screenplay that engages both the intellect and the emotions, is expected to create the same kind of vintage magic through his work in Indian 2.
Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, and Ajal Agarwal all add subtleties to the narrative. The film’s ensemble brilliance is bolstered by an outstanding ensemble of supporting actors, including SJ Suryah, Siddharth, and Gulshan Grover.
The original Tamil version, “Indian 2”, is a joint venture between Red Giant Pictures and Subaskaran Allirajah’s Lyca Productions. It is being released as Bharateeyudu 2 in Telugu and Hindustani 2 in Hindi.
Indian 2 is slated for its mammoth worldwide release on 12 July, 2024.
