The Rajahmundry event of Game Changer today was a grand success. Pawan Kalyan began his speech by remembering cinematic legends, both Telugu and non-Telugu. He also invoked the names of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and other dignitaries/officials.
He mentioned the cast members of Game Changer, including Prudhvi, Naveen Chandra Raccha Ravi, Anjali and others. He also mentioned Thaman, dialogue writer Sai Madhav Burra and others. “I watched Gentleman in Chennai by buying a ticket in black. I also remember watching Premikudu with my mother,” Pawan Kalyan said, adding that Shankar laid the foundations for the rise of the likes of Rajamouli.
“I have always wanted Shankar garu to make a straight Telugu film. Game Changer fulfils that wish. Dil Raju garu bought one of my movies as a distributor. He went on to make Vakeel Saab with me. The remuneration I received for that movie helped fund my political party,” PK added.
“I used to be lazy, like my character in Thammudu. On the contrary, Ram Charan, who was the age of my son, would practise horse-riding. Right from his childhood, he has been disciplined. His prowess was hidden. I never saw him dance at home. On screen, he is an amazing dancer. When I watched Rangasthalam, I was blown over by his great acting. He must secure a Best Actor award in future. He grew up in Tamil Nadu and Telangana. Although he never knew the Godavari culture, he aced that role. If the father is Megastar, his son can only become Global Star. Chiranjeevi garu used to work extremely hard. He would be too tired to even take off his shoes. Back in the day, safety measures on sets would be limited,” Pawan Kalyan said.
“Game Changer was in the making for three years. Through this event, we are letting more people know about this movie. Ticket rates have been raised for this movie. There is a demand-supply rationale behind such hikes. Black ticketing has shady players benefiting. If rates are organized, everything gets tracked and taxed. The government benefits. Cinema should not be politicized. Also, we should see the Indian film industry as one entity. If anything, we have to ape Hollywood’s creative prowess and technical superiority. We needn’t divide ourselves into this and that -wood. Our government doesn’t expect heroes to crawl before us. If you want ticket rate hikes, it’s enough if your producer consults us,” Pawan Kalyan said.
Ram Charan thanked the crowds for turning up for the event. He said that Game Changer was shot partly in Rajahmundry. “I thank the Deputy Chief Minister and other Ministers for taking their time out and attending this event. Pawan Kalyan garu is a game changer in Indian politics. Shankar garu wrote the protagonist character in this movie inspired by people like Kalyan garu,” Charan said.
