Padma Shri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (Sr NTR) has always been a legendary human being who is looked upon as an inspiration to the present generation. He was a great leader, actor, father, and filmmaker. Sr NTR is the founder of the regional political party Telugu Desam Party and was elected as the 10th Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh in 1983. Recently, the birth centenary of the actor, Late Sr. NTR, was celebrated by his family and fans on May 28th. Recently, the government of India announced that they were going to release a specially minted Rs. 100 coin with Sr NTR’s image on it.
Today, the honorable President Droupadi Murmu officially launched this specially minted coin as scheduled at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi. On this special day, the Nandamuri family was invited to the event, which was attended by Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Daggubati Purandeswari, Nandamuri Balakrishna, and others.

The Sr. NTR memorial coin is 44 mm in diameter and is composed of 50 percent silver, 40 percent copper, 5 percent nickel, and 5 percent zinc. The coin’s one side has the three lions with the Ashoka Chakra, and the other side features Sr NTR’s image with “Centennial Birth Year Of Shri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao” engraved on it in Hindi and English. This coin marks the memorial, signifying the 100 years of Sr NTR (1923-2023).
