Sarangapani Jathakam, directed by Mohanakrishna Indraganti and produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under the banner of Sridevi Movies, will hit the screens on April 25th. Speaking about the movie in his latest interview, the Ashta Chamma and Ami Thumi director made some interesting comments.
While the Priyadarshi-starrer has a crime as an important ingredient, it is not a run-of-the-mill crime comedy. “This is a family-friendly crime comedy. There is no violence despite the crime element. The comedy arises from how an ordinary middle-class man working at an automobile outfit. This film is more like an astrological crime comedy,” the filmmaker said in a lighter vein.
Vivek Sagar has composed the music, while Vennela Kishore, VK Naresh, Tanikella Bharani and Srinivas Vadlamani have pivotal parts. “I roped in Priyadarshi at a time when he had delivered Balagam and OTT shows,” Indraganti says. Roopa Koduvayur is paired up with Priyadarshi.
Indraganti enjoys doing comedies, although films like Gentleman, Sammohanam and V were not fun-filled movies. “The genre I enjoy and can entertain people with is comedy. There has been humor in my past films too. But this time, I wanted to make a comedy that appeals to both older and younger generations,” the filmmaker reflects.
Sarangapani Jathakam is an entertainer for all age groups.
