L2: Empuraan has successfully entered the one-billion club in just two days. Released in theatres on March 27th, the political action thriller grossed Rs 100 Cr worldwide by the end of Friday.

The Overseas collections have been phenomenal. “Global domination! $5M+ and counting. Empuraan rewrites the rules of overseas box office. A historic achievement! (sic),” wrote Aashirvad Cinemas, taking to social media.
Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Empuraan has been lauded for its rich production design. Co-starring Tovino Thomas as a Chief Minister and Manju Warrier as a contender for the top post, the film features a post-credits scene. Its third edition will be made a couple of years from now.
