The date is locked and loaded for the arrival of ‘Vettaiyan’. The Rajinikanth-Amitabh Bachchan movie will be available on Amazon Prime Video from November 8th.
Director TJ Gnanavel’s movie, upon its release in theatres for Dasara, sparked a debate about the “commercialization” of education, among other issues. When it makes its debut on OTT, the film is expected to reach a wide audience and renew the debate.

Also starring Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati and Dushara Vijayan, ‘Vettaiyan‘ is a relevant social drama for our times. “Anirudh’s background score stylizes a few scenes. The music is not overpowering and rightly so. This one is Lyca Productions’ sincere attempt at making cinema that is also good art,” our review stated.
Manju Warrier, Kishore, Ritika Singh, GM Sundar, Abirami, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Ramesh Thilak, Rakshan, and others also played different roles in the movie. Manasilaayo, Hunter Entry, Manduthunna, Rakasi Vidhi, and the theme songs for three major characters in the movie were composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
In a recent interview, Gnanavel said that he would love to explore the backstories of Rajini‘s character, Athiyan, by making a prequel.
