S. S. Rajamouli’s name has been making waves across the country since the phenomenal success of the Baahubali series. The movie opened doors for several South Indian talents to reach a bigger part of the country. The story of Baahubali and many other successful ventures of Rajamouli have been written by his father Vijayendra Prasad.
The star writer provided stories for many hit movies, excluding Rajamouli’s. In a recent interview with Film Companion, he dished about the much anticipated Rajamouli directorial RRR and also Rajamouli’s potential project with Mahesh Babu. Vijayendra Prasad stated “Since the Coronavirus pandemic started, nothing has been solidified about the project. Just a few months ago, Rajamouli just said that he wants to do a movie with a backdrop of Africa and adventure.” He added “I am trying to explore the adventure genre and come up with a story. Rajamouli and I are huge fans of Wilbur Smith’s novels (sic.)”
When asked about writing a story for Pawan Kalyan, “I am waiting for an invitation from him to write, which is never happening. I do not think it will happen” he says laughing.
His answer for choosing Ram Charan and Jr. NTR for RRR, Vijayendra Prasad said “There is a good chemistry between the leading stars and the director. Ram Charan and Jr. NTR are perfect for the roles, never had second thoughts (sic.)”
RRR is a fictional retelling of the lives of Indian revolutionaries Alluri Sitaramaraju played by Ram Charan and Komaram Bheem, essayed by Jr. NTR. RRR will hit the theatres worldwide on 13th October, 2021.
