Amazon Prime Video is where Varun Tej’s Matka is going to stream. The recent gangster drama is directed by Karuna Kumar.
“Risk, reward & gamble – MATKA Vasu is the ringmaster who rules them all (sic),” the streaming giant wrote, announcing the streaming date: December 5th. Matka will stream in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Based on fictional events in Visakhapatnam, the story of Matka chronicles the life of Vasu, a notorious Matka gambler and gangster, from 1958 to 1982. Vasu (Varun Tej), a juvenile convict, develops a bond with the jailor. After his release from the prison, he goes on to work at Poorna Market, wins over a share in the business of his master and thus begins his rise. His rivalry with unethical local power-wielders leads him to find new allies.
Matka tells the story of a stoic gangster-like figure who rose in a murky world. The two halves narrate the tension inherent in his journey. The treatment is raw and gritty. This one enjoys commercial prospects.
Also starring Meenakshi Chaudhary, Nora Fatehi, Ravi Shankar, Naveen Chandra and others, Matka has music by GV Prakash Kumar. It is produced by SRT Entertainments and Vyra Entertainments.
