Venkatesh Maha Announces His Next Film

Published: 2026-10-07

Venkatesh Maha has unveiled his next film, Attahaasam, along with an intriguing first-look poster. Coming from the filmmaker behind C/O Kancharapalem, the film is being presented as another real, rooted and authentic entertainer, with the makers planning a Summer 2027 theatrical release.

The announcement carries forward Maha’s connection with the world of C/O Kancharapalem, with the filmmaker describing Attahaasam as another story from the land of Kancharapalem. He also teased a lighter side to the project, saying that life is unpredictable and sometimes all one can do is laugh. The title itself adds to that promise of humour and entertainment.

The first look introduces four important characters in two contrasting frames. Venkatesh Maha is seen in a police avatar alongside Sravanthi Peepakayala, while Karthik Rathnam and Pavani Karanam appear together in another portion of the poster. The visuals deliberately leave the character relationships and larger story open, creating curiosity around the situations that bring these characters together.

Interestingly, the poster features the captions “Maku Moksham Kavali” and “Maku Udyogam Kavali” for the two pairs. These contrasting lines offer a glimpse into the film’s rooted setting while keeping its actual conflict unrevealed.

Maha has once again taken charge as writer and director, while also playing one of the lead roles. Karthik Rathnam, known for C/O Kancharapalem, Pavani Karanam and Sravanthi Peepakayala form the principal cast. Smaran Sai is composing the music. The film is presented by Chinta Varalaxmi and produced by Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy and Rajashekar Reddy under Srichakraas Entertainment and Mahayana.

With its unusual first look and the promise of a rooted entertainer driven by humour, Attahaasam marks an interesting new chapter in Venkatesh Maha’s filmmaking journey. The film is set to arrive in theatres in Summer 2027.
