VD14, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Rahul Sankrityan, is confirmed to be a large-scale, pan-Indian period action drama. This is the duo's second collaboration after Taxiwaala.
The news is that Rahul has confirmed the completion of a major schedule in which some of the most crucial scenes were filmed. "Done with a CRAZY, MAD, WILD, WIDE schedule. Get ready (sic)," the filmmaker wrote on X today. A serene, misty beach scene is visible in the image he shared. Scattered across the beach are several traditional wooden fishing boats.
The story of the yet-to-be-titled movie is officially set against the turbulent backdrop of British colonial rule, with the timeline specifically mentioned as being inspired by real historical events that occurred between 1854 and 1878. The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
Actress Rashmika Mandanna is widely rumored to be cast as the female lead, which would mark her third collaboration with VD. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, known for The Mummy franchise, has reportedly joined the cast in a pivotal role, likely portraying a British officer/antagonist.
