Upendra Reveals Why He Did S/o Satyamurthy
Published: 2025-11-21
Kannada actor Upendra has opened up about doing S/o Satyamurthy many years ago. One of his few straight Telugu movies, this one featured him in a pivotal role.
“I did it only for Trivikram garu. I have been a fan of his writing style ever since I remade Nuvvu Naku Nacchav in Kannada,” Upendra said.
His filmography after S/o Satyamurthy (2015) shows he has continued to work primarily in Kannada cinema, including directing his own films like UI (2024), and has done only one other Telugu film, Ghani (2022), and is filming another, Andhra King Taluka. This suggests a higher focus on his career as an actor/director in the Kannada industry, despite his expressed readiness for more Telugu projects.
He has, in the past, also mentioned that he likes directing more than acting. He enjoys directing because “the director is the one who creates the script, dialogues and knows everything,” and while acting is enjoyable, he finds a director’s job less simple.
Andhra King Taluka, which features Upendra as a matinee idol named Surya, will hit the screens on November 27th.
