Ratsasan , the Tamil-language crime thriller which was remade in Telugu as Rakshasudu by Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, was rejected multiple times by producers and actors before its release. Actor Vishnu Vishal has stated that 22 producers and 17 heroes initially turned down the film . He also revealed that the script was initially rejected by other actors before it was eventually passed to him and then his co-star Amala Paul. In a recent interview, Vishal recalled a lesson from Ratsasan, mentioning that they had initially explained at length why the villain became a psycho in Ratsasan, but eventually decided to tone it down to strengthen the impact of the story. In July 2025, the Kollywood actor confirmed that he is working on the sequel, Ratsasan 2 , and that it will be backed by his production house, Vishnu Vishal Studioz. The shoot is reportedly scheduled to start from 2026. He recently revealed that even after the success of Ratsasan, nine films that were committed to him were dropped. This lack of support and the resulting delay in his film releases were among the reasons he launched his own production house.
