The Girlfriend trailer: This love story is going to be a reality check

A fairy tale suggests an effortless meet-cute, no significant external obstacles, easy communication, passionate, all-consuming love, and an absolute happily ever after that solves all problems. The Girlfriend is anything but. It's touted to be a thought-provoking reality check of sorts. Not everything is solved by a grand gesture. Relationships require hard work, compromise, sacrifice, and the mundane task of choosing each other every day. Rashmika Mandanna's character is in love with Dheekshith Shetty's Vikram. Also featuring Rao Ramesh, Anu Emmanuel and Rohini, the film might as well have an ambiguous ending. Speaking at today's trailer launch event, producer Dheeraj Mogilineni revealed that Rashmika had not charged any fee for doing the film. She told us to first finish the movie and give her fee later. She was doing big projects like Pusha 2 when The Girlfriend was in the making. After shooting during the night for Pushpa 2, she would turn up on the sets of our movie in the morning with her make-up on. Such was her dedication, the kind of which no Bollywood actress can show, the producer said. The Girlfriend will hit the screens on November 7th .
