Thaman Heralds 'Akhanda 2', Calls Original 'Divine' Experience
Published: 2025-11-29
Music Director S. Thaman has stirred immense excitement among fans, declaring that the highly anticipated sequel, Akhanda 2, will be "three times greater than Akhanda." The celebrated composer offered these insights at the movie's pre-release event, reflecting on the divine experience of working on the blockbuster original and his continuing association with Nandamuri Balakrishna.
Thaman emotionally described Akhanda 2 as a cinematic "temple," suggesting that the film's creation was not his doing but the work of Lord Shiva manifesting through him. "You need a lot of luck to make such films," he stated, adding that seeing Balakrishna on the big screen in the form of Lord Shiva compels the audience to "fold their hands and offer a salute." He also lauded co-star Aadhi Pinisetty's "wonderful character," predicting a great reputation for the actor.
The composer acknowledged the crucial support from the producers, 14 Reels Plus, who have been instrumental since Dookudu, expressing his lifelong indebtedness.
In a powerful testament to his collaborative success with Balakrishna, Thaman noted, "Working on five back-to-back films with Balayya Garu is something that happens only if you are extremely lucky." He confirmed their sixth project, directed by Gopichand Malineni, calling it a "sixer".
Concluding with a fiery promise for the upcoming release, Thaman playfully warned the audience: "On December 5th, nobody (runnin theatres) should complain that the boxes have burst or the speakers have exploded. Get your speakers serviced beforehand." He hailed director Boyapati for delivering a true film and confidently declared December 5th as the date for "another blockbuster hit."
