SVSC Re-Release: Fans and Families Flock to Sold-Out Shows, says Dil Raju

Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu is up for theatrical re-release on March 7th. Starring Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu in lead roles, the family entertainer is directed by Srikanth Addala. On Wednesday, producer Dil Raju interacted with the media to talk about the re-release and how audiences are taking to it in increasing numbers: Excerpts from Dil Raju's presser: Even though SVSC is available on OTT and has been aired on TV, the audience want to watch the movie in theatres during the re-release. Ten theatres have seen houseful bookings already. By the release date, Day 1 will be sold out everywhere. We are expecting the collections to catch up for Day 2 as well. Number of screens will be increased in due course of time. Not just fans, even the family audience want to watch this film once again on the big screen. Occupancies in overseas screens are also going up by the hour. SVSC was shot over a period of one year. Since two heroes were involved, it was not easy. Srikanth Addala's idea to cast two big heroes was exciting. Venkatesh garu and Mahesh Babu garu discussed a lot off-screen to ensure their chemistry was natural. They spent a lot of time together, met for dinners to brainstorm their characters. They had said 'yes' to the project immediately. This re-release is not about money. This is just for the happiness of the audience. When I watched the re-release of Bommarillu, I noticed the audience enjoyed it thoroughly. Recently, a Bollywood re-release made Rs 45 Cr. This points at a trend that is catching up. If someone can come up with a nice story for the sequel, we are ready to make a sequel to SVSC. Content matters the most.
