SVC to bankroll Vamshi Paidipally's movie with Salman Khan

Star Telugu director Vamshi Paidipally will be wielding the megaphone for a Salman Khan movie. The prestigious Hindi movie project will be produced by the Dil Raju-Shirish Reddy duo on Sri Venkateswara Creations. The project, which is yet to be titled, will be announced a few weeks from now as part of SVC's mission to launch itself in Bollywood in a bigger way this time. Vamshi Paidipally's filmography has been on the surge, with him making a film a bilingual and a straight Tamil film in his career. In 2007, he began with the film Munna, starring Prabhas. This was followed by the commercially successful Brindavanam (2010), featuring NTR Jr., and the multi-starrer action film Yevadu (2014) with Ram Charan. A major critical and commercial success came with the 2016 Telugu-Tamil bilingual film, Oopiri (titled Thozha in Tamil), an adaptation of the French film The Intouchables, which earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Director – Telugu. In 2019, he directed Maharshi, starring Mahesh Babu, a film that won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. His recent work includes the Tamil film Varisu (2023), which starred Vijay. Across his career, Vamsi Paidipally has demonstrated a knack for directing mainstream works, blending action, drama, and romance, often collaborating with prominent actors in the South Indian film industry.
