Superstar Rajinikanth loves the Coolie hype

Superstar Rajinikanth has called Lokesh Kanagaraj the true hero of Coolie. At the film's recent event in Chennai, the actor expressed his admiration for the director's vision, his ability to generate organic hype, and his unique storytelling style, which Rajinikanth joked was without punch dialogues. In a pre-release event in Hyderabad, earlier, he even compared Lokesh to director SS Rajamouli . He also playfully roasted Lokesh for giving a two-and-a-half-hour interview. Rajinikanth entertained the audience with witty jokes. He referred to himself as a 1950s model with replaced parts, asking the choreographer to be gentle with him. He also joked about why he avoids interviews, saying they would make him remove his jacket and pull out all his secrets. Besides praising Akkineni Nagarjuna and others like Sathyaraj, Rajini referred to Soubin Shahir, the Malayalam actor seen in Monica song. Rajinikanth admitted to initially having reservations about casting Soubin Shahir, even asking Lokesh who he was. He said he was blown away by Soubin's performance after seeing the scenes. Coolie, produced by Sun Pictures with music by Anirudh Ravichander, will hit the screens on August 14th.
