The film is an epic action-adventure blending Hindu mythology, time-travel elements, and high-stakes quests. Mahesh Babu plays Rudra, a devoted Shiva follower on a mysterious mission, portrayed as a bloodied, intense warrior in the first-look glimpses. Global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas makes her Telugu cinema debut as Mandakini, bringing goddess-like allure to the narrative. Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran essays the sinister antagonist Kumbha, a ruthless villain promising gripping confrontations.
Behind the camera, Rajamouli helms the direction and co-writes the story with his father V. Vijayendra Prasad. The score is composed by longtime collaborator M.M. Keeravani, known for iconic soundtracks in Baahubali and RRR. Produced by Sri Durga Arts and Showing Business, the film boasts a massive budget and globe-trotting scale, slated for release in 2027.
Rajamouli recently revealed the film is entirely shot using IMAX cameras in the true 1.43:1 aspect ratio—the first Indian production to do so. "We are introducing a new technology to Indian cinema," Rajamouli stated, aiming for unparalleled immersion on premium large-format screens. This breakthrough seeks to elevate visual storytelling, opening unprecedented global avenues while expressing hope for expanded IMAX infrastructure in India by release.
