The shooting of Slumdog: 33 Temple Road, starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role, has been completed. Director Puri Jagannadh announced the update on social media, expressing excitement about bringing the film to audiences and promising an emotional rollercoaster on the big screen. The makers have also confirmed that the film’s release date will be announced soon.
Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film marks his collaboration with Vijay Sethupathi, who plays a visually impaired beggar in the story. The title and first-look poster introduced the actor in a rugged appearance, holding a machete amid bundles of currency. The teaser, released earlier, offered glimpses of action, intense confrontations and emotional moments while keeping the central mystery surrounding his character under wraps.
Samyuktha plays the female lead, while Tabu, Duniya Vijay and Zarina Wahab appear in important roles. Tabu plays Gauri Hegde, a Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, and her character glimpse presented her as a fearless and powerful officer. Zarina Wahab plays Zubaida, whose first-look poster introduced another important character in the film. Brahmaji and VTV Ganesh are also part of the supporting cast.
The film is produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under Puri Connects, in association with JB Narayan Rao Kondrolla of JB Motion Pictures. Harshavardhan Rameshwar is composing the music, while Shyam K. Naidu handles the cinematography and Santosh Noozilla takes care of editing.
