Sitaare Zameen Par: Spanish movie Champions becomes a talking point

Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par is based on a foreign film. The sports comedy is inspired from Champions, a famous Spanish sports comedy-drama film released in 2018. The Hindi adaptation is coming out in theatres seven years after the release of the original. Champions , about which the Indian audience don't know much, is directed by Javier Fesser. The film's sequel was released in Spanish in 2023. The Hindi adaptation is not the first one to come into existence. Champions was remade in Arabic, German and English as well. Coming back to Sitaare Zameen Par, the Bollywood film is directed by RS Prasanna. Producers Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit have pitched this as a spiritual successor to Taare Zameen Par , Aamir Khan's 2007 directorial. Co-starring Genelia Deshmukh, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Vedant Sharmaa, Naman Misra and others, it is slated to hit the screens on June 20th .
