Singer Chinmayi appeals to police, Commissioner promises action

Singer Chinmayi Sripaada has appealed to the Hyderabad police to look into an X Space wherein some male persons used abusive and perverted language against her and a social media user named Yashaswini. It was the latter who first outed the men, saying that grotesque language was used against herself and Chinmayi during a discussion on observing certain traditions. Chinmayi tagged the Hyderabad Police (Cyber Crime unit) on social media, sharing screenshots of the abusive messages and filing a complaint to seek action against the perpetrators for online trolling and potential threats. https: twitter.com Chinmayi status 1986129112696848440 "Please take cognisance of this. I am sick and tired of this everyday abuse and women deserve better in Telangana. If they don't like an opinion they can ignore and leave. I am happy to file a complaint and even if this case takes 15 years let law take its course. These men are basically saying my kids should die," Chinmayi wrote on social media. VC Sajjanar , Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, has since promised action. An FIR is likely to be lodged against the offenders soon.
