Charming Star Sharwa is set to explore a completely new space in his career as he teams up with blockbuster filmmaker Sampath Nandi for the first time in the upcoming pan-India period action drama Bhogi. The film is being mounted on a grand scale by KK Radhamohan under the banner of Sri Sathya Sai Arts, with Lakshmi Radhamohan presenting the project. Positioned as one of the most ambitious films in Sharwa’s career, Bhogi has already generated strong buzz among audiences.
Recently, the makers unveiled the film’s powerful first-look poster, which received an overwhelming response from fans and movie lovers alike.
On the occasion of Sharwa’s birthday, the team released a special poster showcasing the actor in a strikingly intense and massy avatar. Sporting thick, messy hair and a dense beard, Sharwa appears raw and rebellious in the poster. With a beedi between his lips and smoke slowly drifting out, the look adds to the rugged attitude of the character. His slightly sweaty and textured appearance further enhances the gritty realism, while his stern expression and piercing gaze hint at a fierce and uncompromising personality.
The film carries the tagline “A Blood Fest,” hinting at the violent and intense tone of the story. In Bhogi, Sharwa will be seen in one of his most rustic and powerful roles to date, and his makeover has already become a major talking point among fans.
Director Sampath Nandi is crafting the film against a rugged period backdrop set along the North Telangana–Maharashtra border during the late 1960s. The narrative is rooted in the socio-political atmosphere of that era, promising a raw and intense cinematic experience.
Currently, the film’s shoot is underway in Hyderabad, where the team is filming a high-octane action sequence on a massive set.
Anupama Parameswaran and Dimple Hayathi play the female leads in the film, while several noted actors appear in key supporting roles.
Technically, the film boasts a strong crew. The production design is handled by Kiran Kumar Manne, cinematography is by Kishore Kumar Arokia, and the music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo.
Planned as a pan-India release, Bhogi will hit theatres in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi on August 28, coinciding with the festive occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
