Sridevi Movies brings out Sarangapani Jathakam before the audience. What is the movie like? What is it about? Let's find out. Story: Sarangapani ( Priyadarshi ), who works at an automobile outlet, has been in love with his senior, Mythili (Roopa Koduvayur). When she herself proposes him, he is in on a cloud nine. But all hell breaks loose when, just days after their wedding date is fixed, Saranga is told by a renowned palmist that he is ill-fated to commit something extraordinary. Pushed to the wall, Saranga and his friend (Vennela Kishore) decide to do an unthinkable crime. What is their decision? How does it impact Saranga's equations with his fiance? Is their engaging stable? Analysis: Mohanakrishna Indraganti's flair for situational comedy is well-known. Occasionally, his films also dwell on observational comedy, a delightful genre where comedians turn the mundane aspects of everyday life into hilarious insights. Think about those little quirks and annoyances we all experience but rarely articulate. In the case of Sarangapani Jathakam , the situations are extremely rare. The inclusion of a crime angle subverts the expectations of the audience in a good way. The humour comes with a contemporary touch. Take the case of a woman going gaga over her alpha male future hubby. The track is a subtle commentary on the narratives around Sandeep Vanga's Animal. The episode involving a vile yet comical grandma, the male lead and his friend is another enjoyable stretch. Several scenes unfold over a night. Indraganti's screenplay is never overwhelmed by the amount of work on hand. This is not a story-based film. There is an inherent message in the narrative, though. Sarangapani Jathakam works predominantly as a silly comedy, much like some of the relatively more recent comedies like Jathi Ratnalu and MAD Square. Priyadarshi was a bit rigid and understated in Court , as per the demands of his role. In the film under review, his fluid performance keeps the audience invested. His comical range is admirable; he was not like this in Jathi Ratnalu and Brochevarevarura . Roopa Koduvayur is measured. More than the female lead, it is Vennela Kishore who gets more screen space. After some gap, the comedian gets to speak delectable one-liners. Tanikella Bharani and VK Naresh have extended cameos. Viva Harsha 's character becomes more important than expected at some point in the story. Avasarala Srinivas is perfect in the role of an occult palmist whose intuition stuns everyone. Vivek Sagar's music is a flourish of impressive tunes. PG Vinda's cinematography adds to the overall quality. Sridevi Movies' Sivalenka Krishna Prasad succeeds in delivering a family-friendly crime comedy. Verdict: A genuinely funny and surprisingly engaging situational crime comedy, Sarangapani Jathakam shines with Priyadarshi's delightful performance and Mohanakrishna Indraganti's knack for contemporary humor. While not driven by a complex plot, its wittiness makes it a thoroughly enjoyable watch for those seeking lighthearted entertainment.
