Samantha's Special Friday: Actress opens up about her maiden production 'Subham'

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has a special Friday at the cinemas this week. She may have acted in dozens of movies, but Subham is different because she is its producer. And the film is her maiden production venture. The atypical horror-comedy will start showing in theatres on May 9th . The star actress, for whom hits and blockbusters are nothing new, is admittedly jittery. Why wouldn't she be, when this is her first Friday as someone with financial stakes in a project? I am extremely nervous. Only now do I truly understand the kind of challenges producers face. I have spent sleepless nights over the past week, she says. The actress, known for big-ticket projects like Attarintiki Daredi, Janatha Garage, Eega and Rangasthalam , says that Subham's post-production, mixing, and editing teams have all been working tirelessly. My respect for my team has grown immensely. Subham has turned out very well. It has a solid story, and I have a lot of faith in this film, she adds. Directed by Praveen Kandregula , Subham features Harshith Malgireddy, Shriya Kontham, Charan Peri, Shalini Kondepudi, Gavireddy Srinivas, and Shravani in lead roles. The production boasts a talented crew, including Mridul Sujit Sen as cinematographer, Ram Charan Tej handling production design, and Dharmendra Kakarla as editor. Vasanth Mariganti is its writer. Clinton Cerejo s music is nostalgic, taking you back in time, while Vivek Sagar s background score will leave a strong impression, Samantha assures.
