The Title Glimpse of Ravi Babu-directed Razor comes with a razor-sharp warning, saying that it is suitable only for those above the age of 18. "The following content is not suitable for the faint-hearted viewer. Discretion is advised," the video warns in unmistakable language. What follows are gut-wrenching visuals of desperadoes (rapists and drug peddlers?) being handed over the most cruel form of punishment. Because, "justice has to be brutal"! Violence here has a purpose; the protagonist is an unforgiving vigilante.
For director-actor Ravi Babu, who started out with a rom-com like Allari, this is an unexpected leap. While Anasuya was spine-chilling and Avunu was filled with scares, Razor is his most violent movie yet. He is throwing subtlety to the winds in favour of shock and awe.
Razor is scheduled to be released in theatres for Summer 2026. The exact release date is yet to be made official. Suresh Productions is presenting this crime thriller, which is being directed by Flying Frogs Production.
Yenugu Thondam Ghattikachalam, which recently premiered directly on a digital platform, was his directorial.
